What the site stores, which services receive requests and how to manage your planning records. Updated November 6, 2026.

Reviewed:

Public reading and private records

You can read the public guides and browse land information without creating an account. Pages and maps are delivered through Cloudflare and the website server. Delivering and protecting these requests involves connection information such as IP address, browser details, requested address and timing.

Your saved notes, contacts, access points, checklists and plans are private planning records. They are not included in public articles, the public land directory or public search. Information you choose to place in a shared link, exported file or message is shared with whoever receives it.

Storage in your browser and account

Guest planning records and preferences use browser storage, including localStorage. Signed-in drafts may use sessionStorage to help preserve work in progress. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to view locally saved information; clearing site storage removes the browser copies. Reading marks are saved only in this browser and are not synchronized to your account. You can remove them with the reading-progress clear control or by clearing site storage.

When you sign in and synchronize, the site stores account details and your planning records in a private server database. Passwords are stored as salted hashes rather than plain text. Sign-in uses necessary session cookies, including secure, HttpOnly cookies on the public HTTPS site; temporary cookies also support Google sign-in. Blocking these necessary functions may prevent account features from working.

Google sign-in and account email

If you choose Google sign-in, the site requests OpenID and email access to verify the account. It stores a Google account identifier and verified email address to recognize the linked account. This sign-in does not request access to your Gmail messages or Google Drive files.

Resend delivers requested account messages, such as registration, email verification and password recovery. The delivery service processes the recipient address, message content and delivery information. These account messages are separate from marketing subscriptions.

Location, maps and weather

The location button asks for browser permission before using your device location to set the map distance reference. SKHunter does not use your precise GPS location, private access points, notes or land contacts for advertising targeting.

Map tiles, GIS services and Google Fonts create requests to their providers, who receive ordinary connection information such as IP address. The map view may reveal the area being requested. Opening an external navigation link shares the destination in that link with the navigation provider.

When you choose to load weather, rounded public parcel coordinates are sent to this website. Its server requests and briefly caches ECCC official forecasts and alert data. GPS, private pins, notes and trip details are excluded. ECCC receives the server connection rather than your browser IP. Forecasts and alerts have separate retrieval and issue times; page-session captures are not live observations.

Detailed hourly forecasts are optional and use Visual Crossing separately from ECCC. Loading them sends this website the public parcel identifier, selected date and interface language. The server resolves the parcel from its public land data and sends only rounded public coordinates and that date to Visual Crossing. It does not forward your account, browser IP, GPS, private notes, contacts or trip details. Forecasts are cached in server memory for up to one hour and displayed in parcel panels, day-plan weather and parcel comparisons, with source and retrieval time. A single Load weather action enables both forecasts; later date or language changes load the matching detailed view and reuse valid session results. Merely opening a parcel, day plan or comparison sends no weather request.

Advertising verification and future advertising

At this stage, SKHunter has added no AdSense ad-serving JavaScript or visitor-analytics tags. An AdSense ownership meta tag and ads.txt identify the publisher; they do not themselves run ad code or set advertising tracking cookies.

Before activating ads, we will update the disclosures and available consent choices. Advertising services may then use cookies, IP addresses or similar identifiers for ads and measurement. Google’s privacy information and advertising controls are linked below.

Keeping, exporting and deleting records

Guest records remain in the browser until you remove them, clear site storage or the browser removes them. Signing out does not erase guest records or delete the account’s server copy. Synced account records remain until you delete the records and the deletion is synchronized, or the site operator handles an account-data removal request.

Use the available private export tools to keep your own copy. For account-level removal or questions about retained copies, contact the site operator and identify the account using the minimum necessary information. Operational backups may contain earlier copies; ask about those copies as part of a removal request. Session expiry is not a promise that saved account records are automatically erased.

Your choices and questions

You can read public content as a guest, decline location access, avoid optional weather requests and manage browser storage. Account functions allow you to review and edit saved records. External services apply their own privacy policies when you use them.

Use the contact page for a privacy or account-data request. Never send your password, recovery code, one-time sign-in link or payment information. We may need to confirm control of an account before acting on a request concerning its records.

Site statistics and account administration

From November 3, 2026, our own site statistics count successful public-page requests by day and page path. These aggregate counters contain no IP addresses, cookies, account identifiers, query values, referrers or individual browsing histories. They are kept for up to 90 Saskatchewan calendar days. Recognized bots, prefetches, private workspaces, searches and administration pages are excluded; DNT and Global Privacy Control signals are honored. These counts measure server requests rather than unique visitors, and cached pages or unrecognized automation can affect them.

Authorized site administrators can view registration details, verified account email, linked sign-in method, registration time, last sign-in, recent authenticated account activity and active-session counts. Activity times are recorded at most once every five minutes and do not identify the public pages you read. Historical sign-in times before this feature are unavailable. The administration dashboard does not provide access to your private notes, land contacts, precise locations or saved trip contents.

Administrator reads and session-revocation actions are logged with the administrator, affected account where relevant, action, time and session count. These logs exclude credentials and private document contents and are retained for up to 90 days, subject to a 20,000-entry limit. Account activity metadata remains with the account; contact us about account-data requests using the details below.

Learning records and article feedback

Course read marks, bookmarks and saved review questions are saved to your account only when you explicitly load and save learning records. Guest marks remain in browser storage. Public courses do not automatically load private records; merging browser marks is an explicit choice. Quiz answers and individual reading histories are not collected by this feature.

Submitted feedback stores the public page, category, language, message, status and timestamps for up to 60 days, limited to 5,000 records. Saved feedback contains no account, cookie, IP or referrer. Temporary in-memory request limits protect the endpoint. Do not include private contacts, precise private locations or credentials. Authorized administrators review feedback and source changes; updates are not published automatically.
